Encouragement in Trying Times
One of our BCM Chaplains, Tina Balentine, was invited to Tulane Medical Center a few weeks ago to do an invocation at the beginning of the 2020 Nurses Week Award Ceremony.
Tulane is Tina’s assigned ministry site and she’s been working both on-site and remotely via phone calls, Zoom meetings, and emails to stay connected to patients and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In case you’ve ever wondered about the impact of our chaplains, here is a quote from Aaron E., an RN at Tulane:
“I just wanted to express my gratitude for your allowing Mrs. Tina to come to our facility and pray for the staff this week. I’ve known Tina for five years and can’t begin to express how thankful I am for her. As an ICU nurse who works in extremely stressful situations, I can tell you personally that Tina has been there to encourage, uplift, and pray for me in times when I deeply needed it. She always has a smile, a warm hug, and a contagious positivity that our hospital greatly benefits from. I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate nurses’ week than to receive a blessing and prayer from her during this COVID-19 pandemic… Thank you SO much for allowing her to come.”
